Last thursday,
dell announced the official acquisition of
Alienware Computers. Alienware has consistently been viewed as
HIGH PERFORMANCE QUALITY. It makes perfect sense for both companies.
From the articles available (although specific details are not easily found) it appears that Alienware will remain a seperate entity, acting as a child subsidiary of Dell.
Pc magazine points out that Dell will finally sport a AMD chip, as Alienware boasts several powerful AMD based systems.
I think we will see more consolidation like this as
Dell and
Google continue to grow. I will be interested to see what the next generation will think of these two major companies.....
will they go the way of microsoft? supersaturating a market that consistently bashes the product they HAVE to use?
