Immigration

Just to touch on it--

I did watch a good chunk of last night's presidential address, (missed the last part as a result of putting the kiddies to bed). From what I saw I think George was took a good balanced approach. He gave consideration to both sides of the argument with an even hand that the leader of this country should posess..... He also came up with what appears now to be a fair solution.

He made the distinction between those who are recent immigrants to those that have been here for years and have established life. He spoke of not giving these people a free ride to citizenship. He mentioned a temporary worker program, and better enforcement of the policies already in place.

I would probably prefer a harsher approach, but thats my human vindictive side, and since the issue affects my everyday life very little I don't have any HUGE opinions on it.


I also heard that CNN aired some of the president rehersing for his speach (about 45 seconds before he was supposed to air). It definetly sounds like it didnt make him look that great. . . Isn't the news media supposed to be unbiased???
